## When JPG to PNG is useful

Use PNG when a design or publishing workflow asks for a PNG file, when you plan to edit the image with transparency later, or when you want to avoid another lossy JPG re-encode. Converting does not restore detail that was removed by prior JPG compression, and photographs may produce larger PNG files.

## Privacy

Supported images are processed locally in the browser and are not sent to an ImageConverter.me conversion server.
